In 2022, Rizobacter plans to open an adjuvants plant in Londrina to supply the growing crop protection market.

Rizobacter, one of the leading global biological companies, announced the construction of the new plant in Brazil, adding significant depth to its international expansion. Currently, the company has eight subsidiaries in Latin America, the United States, Europe, and South Africa, and a commercial presence in more than 40 countries. Its portfolio is made up of next generation ag products, mainly of biological synthesis, as well as adjuvants and special nutrition technologies. The company is part of the Bioceres Crop Solutions group, a global provider of solutions designed for sustainability in agriculture, listed on the NASDAQ.

Rizobacter has a 44-year history, where its parent company is located, and a 23-year history in the Brazilian market. The construction of the new plant, which will be built on a 65,000 m2 site in the municipality of Londrina, will require an investment of seven million dollars. The facilities will be used for the production of premium agricultural adjuvants and two laboratories for research and quality control of adjuvants and biological lines. An administration center will also operate there.

Rizobacter CEO Ricardo Yapur explained the basis for this important investment: “The demand for adjuvant solutions that improve the efficiency and quality of agricultural applications is growing rapidly in Brazil. We are talking about inputs inherent to the world’s largest crop protection market, which today is worth $12 billion. Our company has been working for more than 30 years in the development of adjuvant products with high added value, in strategic alliances with companies, to provide solutions that promote safe, efficient agricultural applications and are consistent with good agricultural practices. These are technologies that optimize chemical and biological control, the compatibility of recipes, and the operation of the spraying technique. If we think that 70 per cent of the performance of a phytosanitary is determined by the quality of its application, we can better measure the implications of these inputs,” he adds.

The expansion of operations in Brazil will generate 130 jobs, which will be added to the 85 collaborators that currently make up the firm’s workforce. “With the construction of this plant, which will be operational at the end of 2022, the company demonstrates its roots in the country and its intentions to provide a better service and grow in a market willing to invest in state-of-the-art technologies to achieve better performance with less impact on the environment,” said Nilton Elteto, general manager of Rizobacter Brasil.

A strength of the company’s global management is the multi-channel strategy to reach producers, and its ability to respond to the characteristics of each particular segment. Rizobacter’s portfolio is well focused on differentiated technologies, which add value to the agricultural business by improving production and environmental parameters. In Brazil, this investment will allow the development of specific solutions demanded locally which, accompanied by an excellent service provided by a professional team, are the pillars of the strategy for business growth.
